Thailand has established itself during the last two decades as a prime destination in Asia and a classic of worldwide birding. The country is the host of a long list of specialties, iconic and colorful species. It is also equipped with a nice network of natural reserves and national parks, spanning a wide range of habitats, from the lowland tropical forests to the evergreen altitude forests, the coastal wetlands and the medium altitude deciduous forests. Going through the list of ecosystems that we will visit shouldn't make you think that that it will come to the detriment of comfort. Indeed, the road network is very good, lodges are very comfortable and the food is simply delicious.
Due to the size of the country and the variety of its ecosystems, it is almost impossible to discover the entire avifauna of the country during a single trip.
Our first trip to Thailand will therefore concentrate on the North and its tropical mountainous regions.
